Stairway to Heaven

 Hike day 2, Hillary Steps were over 2,400 ft of Elevation in just over 3 miles. All I can say is that I’m glad I prepared. We finished up our hike at Namche Bazaar at 11,700 elevation. The views were spectacular, mountains that look as if they could be Everest but we haven’t even gotten to where we have seen it yet. The trails were busy, but thinned out the higher we climbed. We must have crossed 3 swing bridges, which are interesting given the height they were and the traffic we encountered.

We stayed in this Tea House on our way down, had lunch there on the way up, Daughter of the Sherpa that ran this Tea House.

We arrived in Namche early, had lunch and shopped for souvenirs in the Bazaar. The village is quite big given it’s remoteness. Hot shower, dinner then bed. It was a good day!
